RIP Bernie Stolar

Sad news for the gaming community, Bernie Stolar, an influential game executive of the 1990’s, has passed away at the age of 75.

He is best known for helping to launch both the Sony PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast but was involved with so much more. He worked for Atari in the 1980’s, working on arcade games, later home consoles, and even their handheld, the Atari Lynx. From there, he moved onto Sony, helping to release the PlayStation, and after, moving onto Sega where he urged for the demise of the Saturn and helped launch the ill-fated Dreamcast, a revolutionary gaming machine at the time. He also worked for Mattel and even Google.
